Phire CMS v 2.0 Is Underway!

So this is really exciting news! After much hard work over the past 8 months on developing the latest version of the PHP framework on which Phire is built, Phire CMS v 2.0 has been green-lit for development. While the robust core features that make Phire unique will remain in tact, many new and improved features are slated to be built into the CMS, as well as a nice overhaul to the user interface. Phire CMS Hits 1,000 Downloads!

Just a few short months after the first version of Phire CMS was released, interest continues to build as Phire CMS reached it's 1,000 download this weekend. Shortly after Phire CMS v1.0 was released towards the end of 2010, two upgrades were quickly issued, due to rapid and helpful input from the community. The first, v1.0.1, addressed some security issues and was released immediately. The second, v1.1, contained some nice feature upgrades that were mostly put in place due to talking to and listening the community that had already downloaded, used and commented on Phire CMS. As v1.1 seems to be keeping the momentum going, the next version is already in the works, and should be released in the next couple of months.

Phire CMS v1.1 Template Engine Patch

A small upgrade to the feature set of the Phire templating engine was developed and released. Previously, a user could import templates into other templates or pages via the placeholder:

[{template_6001}]

Now, in addition to using ID numbers, it is possible to utilize the same placeholder with template names, using underscores (_) for spaces, like this:

[{template_Header_Template}]

This small addition should help with theme and template development moving forward. You can download the patch here, or download the full version of the CMS to install from scratch.

Phire CMS v1.1 Installation Patch

A small bug was found in the installation scripts of Phire CMS regarding language selection. If a user was pushed to the install error screen in between Step 1 and Step 2, the language variable was being set to null and causing an error to be thrown. The CMS has been patched and is now available to download with that patch included. If you've downloaded v1.1 of Phire before January 24th and have had experienced this installation issue, please either download the patch, or download the full version to install Phire with the corrected installation scripts. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank You.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Phire CMS v1.1 is finally here! Thanks to some great initial feedback, v1.1 has a few of the most requested features, like language support for 12 languages! Also, the install process has been made A LOT easier. Some of the great new features that have been added to Phire CMS are:

• Nested Sections
• More "Blog-like" Features (i.e., date-based URL filtering, page expiration dates, etc.)
• Internal Site Search Log
• And more!

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Phire CMS v1.1 is coming soon! One of the most requested features was language support, so in this new version, language support has been built in for 12 languages. Also, the install process has been made much easier and more automated. A few other tweaks and additions went into this version. So, stay-tuned, as the newest version of Phire CMS will be release soon!

Phire CMS v1.0.1 has been released. This update contains a handful of security patches as well as a couple of small revisions and upgrades.
You can download it here, or, if you already have it installed, you can update it via the dashboard via FTP.
